Tardy Policy

  1. Attendance accuracy is vital. Teachers must submit attendance listing absences and tardies to Synergy within the first 15 minutes of each class period.

  2. Period 1 – All school gates close at 8:02 AM. Campus supervisors are at each gate to check students in and give them a tardy pass to class. In class, teachers accept the tardy pass and mark the student tardy in Synergy. Students arriving after 8:15 AM must proceed to the Attendance office. Attendance will mark the student tardy in Synergy.

  3. Students who arrive at school with a doctor’s note should be sent directly to Attendance with the note.

  4. Using the information from the period 1 tardy list and information entered by teachers on Synergy, the Attendance office creates a period 1 master tardy list with the total tardies for the semester.

  5. The Attendance office monitors tardies for Period 1. Attendance will issue warnings for the 1st and 2nd tardies and will issue a detention for the 3rd tardy to Period 1. If the student fails to attend the assigned detention, the student will automatically be assigned to Extended ALC (Room 702) on Wednesdays from 1:20 PM – 3:20 PM. The supervisor will issue Extended ALC on Wednesdays for the 4th tardy to Period 1. The A.P. office will receive a list of all students attending Extended ALC. Students will be referred to the A.P. office for 5+ tardies and will receive another consequence.

  6. Teachers monitor tardies for Periods 0 and 2-6. Teachers will issue warnings for the 1st and 2nd tardies and will issue a detention for the 3rd tardy to Periods 0 and 2-6. If the student fails to attend the assign detention, the student will automatically be assigned to Extended ALC on Wednesdays (Room 702) on Wednesdays from 1:20 PM – 3:20 PM. Teachers will issue Extended ALC on Wednesdays for the 4th tardy to Periods 0 and 2-6. The A.P. office will receive a list of all students attending Extended ALC. Students will be referred to the A.P. office for 5+ tardies and will receive another consequence.
