PE Distance Learning Syllabus

Mission Statement: The mission of Physical Education is to empower all students to sustain regular, lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive and fulfilling life.

Daily Participation: Students have the opportunity to earn 10 daily points if they participate in a 30 min workout. A total of 20 points per week.  Every Monday there will be 4 workouts posted on WPMS PE website.  A student must do 2 of the 4 options each week for him/her to earn full credit and then write 4 sentence reelection on their experience on each workout he/she has chosen.  For example, If I have PE 1st period I am going to choose one workout for Tuesday and one workout for Thursday.  After each workout, I will write a 4-sentence reflection on that workout.  By the time the week is over, I should have two different workout entries with a 4-sentence reflection a total of 8 sentences in my weekly workout log sheet.  Those Logs sheets are due every Monday by 9:00am.   Therefore, on the week of 4-14 to 4-17 those workout logs will be due Monday 4-20 by 9:00 am. There will be a 2pt penalty per day for log sheets that are not turned in on time.  No late work will be accepted a week after assignment is due.

Making Up Lost Points: If a student is sick on the day he/she is supposed to do their work out, he/she can do their work out at any time and any day of the week as long as it is completed by the following Monday at 9 am.  As per district, policy if a student is sick more than 3 days a doctor’s note is required.

Grades: A student’s grade is determined by the number of points earned as a percentage of those available as follows:

 100-90% = A; 89-80% = B; 79-70% = C; 69-60% = D; 59-0% = F
