Tardy Policy

  1. Attendance accuracy is vital. Teachers must submit attendance listing absences and tardies to Synergy within the first 15 minutes of each class period.

  2. Period 1 – All school gates close at 8:00 AM and students will be redirected to the Attendance Office to get a tardy slip.

  3. Students who arrive at school with a doctor’s note should be sent directly to Attendance with the note.

  4. Using the information from the period 1 tardy list and information entered by teachers on Synergy, the Attendance office creates a period 1 master tardy list with the total tardies for the semester.

  5. The Attendance office monitors tardies for Period 1. Attendance will issue warnings for the 1st and 2nd tardies and will issue a conference with an AP for 3rd tardy to Period 1. 6th tardy Detention after school .  9th tardy Extended ALC (Wed. 1:30 - 3:15pm) and referral to the AP office. AP will contact parent.  12th tardy  Extended ALC (Wed. 1:30-3:15 PM) and administration conference with parent to discuss attendance concerns and impact on learning. If there are other attendance concerns, possible SART contract.

  6. Teachers monitor tardies for Periods  2-6. Teachers will issue warnings for the 1st and 2nd tardies and will issue a detention for the 3rd tardy to Periods  2-6. 3rd Tardy – After School Detention (Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 2:30-3:15 PM). Teacher assigns the consequence and calls parent. 4th Tardy – After School Detention (Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri. 2:30-3:15 PM). Teacher assigns the consequence and calls parent. 5th Tardy – Referral to AP. Teacher sends referral to AP.  AP will meet with parent and assign consequence. The A.P. office will receive a list of all students attending Extended ALC. Students will be referred to the A.P. office for 5+ tardies and will receive another consequence.
